Then, head to bright blue Jodhpur, home to the mighty Mehrangarh Fort and bustling bazaars, followed by the magical city of Udaipur and romance of shimmering Lake Pichola. Next, fly south to energetic Mumbai, one of the most dynamic and fascinating cities in the world before taking to the skies once more to Goa, India’s ‘Sunshine State’, where you can lap up the sun, sea and sand of the region’s stunning white beaches.

 

DAY 1

ARRIVE IN DELHI (STAY AT THE IMPERIAL)

Your private luxury tour of Rajasthan begins on arrival in Delhi, where you will be met at the airport and chauffeured to your luxury hotel, The Imperial, where classicism meets art deco with high ceilings, flowing curtains, French linen and marble baths. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. The verdant Lodi Gardens make for a lovely stroll or your driver can take you to Khan Market, lined with fabulous fashion boutiques and lovely restaurants.

 

DAY 2

DELHI

Today, you’ll explore both Old and New Delhi including Humayun’s Tomb (thought to have inspired the Taj Mahal), the 17th-century Jama Masjid and the Afghan-styleQutbMinar. Other highlights include: India Gate, Connaught Place and the Lotus Temple.Complete your privately-guided city tour with an exhilarating cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk’s tinybazaars, glittering with jewellery, decorations, spices, street food and much more.

 

DAY 3

DELHI TO JAIPUR (RAMBAGH PALACE)

This morning, you’ll be chauffeured to Delhi airport to board a direct flight to Jaipur, Rajasthan’s vibrant capital. Upon arrival, check into Rambagh Palace. One of India’s great palace hotels, the property features four-poster beds, high ceilings and antique furniture plus three of the best fine-dining restaurants in Jaipur. Spend the rest of the day at leisure – there’s both a fabulous spa and swimming pool.

 

DAY 4

JAIPUR

Today, led by a local expert, you’ll be discovering Jaipur’s many wonders. Start with the superb City Palace and a tour around its private rooms. Continue with a photo-stop at the extraordinary pink-painted Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds)before visiting the Jantar Mantar observatory. Later, make your way to the splendid 17th-century Amber Fort on elephant back, before dining at luxury camp DeraAmerwhere you can feed the resident elephants.

 

DAY 5

JAIPUR TO JODHPUR (STAY AT RAAS HAVELI)

Continue to the walled blue city of Jodhpur, where you’ll be staying at RAAS Haveli for the next two nights. A contemporary conversion of an 18th-century haveli, this luxury boutique hotel overlooks Mehrangarh Fort and is the best possible base for exploring the old city on foot. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel, taking a dip in the pool or enjoying a soothing treatment in the spa before savouring a candlelit dinner on the rooftop. 

 

DAY 6

JODHPUR

Spend the day discovering the best of the “Blue City” which is at the heart of regal Rajasthan and home to the prosperous Marwari community of India. Start with mighty MehrangarhFort, that towers over Jodhpur. Then wind your way past bright blue painted houses, through the labyrinth of twisting streets, full of colour and atmosphere. Along the way, bargain at the bustling bazaars for some lovely local handicraft to take home.

 

DAY 7

JODHPUR TO UDAIPUR (STAY AT TAJ LAKE PALACE)

This morning, you’ll be chauffeured to the fairy-tale city of Udaipur, where you’ll take a short boat ride to Taj Lake Palace, one of the world’s most romantic hotels. Built in the 17th century, this magnificent 250-year-old white marble palace floats like a mirage in the centre of sparkling Lake Pichola. In the afternoon, travel across the water to Jagmandir Island, which features a beautiful palace, where the royal family once held summer parties.

 

DAY 8

UDAIPUR

One of Rajasthan’s most magical cities, begin your privately-guided city tour at the City Palace, an impressive complex on the banks of Lake Pichola that elegantly combines Rajasthani, European and Chinese design. Continue through the narrow streets of the old city, soaking up the buzz of the ancient bazaar, which teems with miniature paintings, wood carvings, silver jewellery, bangles, spices, camel-bone boxes and a plethora of textiles.

 

DAY 9

UDAIPUR TO MUMBAI (STAY AT TAJ MAHAL PALACE)

Spend the morning at leisure before boarding a direct flight to Mumbai, where you’ll check into the iconicTaj Mahal Palace. The flagship property of the Taj Group, this luxury hotel is filled with antiques, silk carpets, crystal chandeliers, paintings and contemporary art, accompanied by stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Spend the rest of the day at leisure – the seafront in front of the hotel makes for a fascinating wander.

 

DAY 10

MUMBAI

Led by your local private guide, rise early for a dawn tour and watch the local food markets unfold. Then explore the city’s stately mansions and magnificent architecture which stand tall amongst the dense, tropical greenery. Highlights include: the exquisitely sculpted Flora Fountain, the Gateway of India and Elphinstone Circle with its arcaded façade. There’s plenty of great shopping, too, plus a fantastic food scene.

 

DAY 11

MUMBAI TO GOA (STAY IN THE LEELA GOA/FORT AGUADA)

This morning, you will be chauffeured to Mumbai airport in time for your flight to Goa, India’s ‘Sunshine State’ where you’ll be hitting the beach. On arrival, check into your luxury hotel. We recommend either The Leela Goa, nestled amid 75 acres of landscaped gardens, with 186 luxuriously-appointed guestrooms and suites, or Taj Fort Aguada, built high on the ramparts of 16th-century Portuguese fortress, overlooking the Arabian Sea.

 

DAY 12 + 13 + 14

GOA

The next three days are spent at leisure. There are many heavenly white-sand beaches, where you can lap up the sun, sea and sand before watching the fisherman unload their catch on the beach, to the backdrop of a fiery sunset. We can also arrange private guided tours of the surrounding area, taking in the Portuguese white-washed Baroque churches, sleepy fishing villages and intimate coves that punctuate the tropical scene.

 

DAY 15

GOA TO MUMBAI (STAY AT TAJ MAHAL PALACE)

Spend the morning at leisure, soaking up the last of beach life, before transferring to Goa airport in time for your flight to Mumbai. On arrival, you will be met and chauffeured to your luxury hotel Taj Mahal Palace. Spend the afternoon, relaxing in the lap of luxury, alternatively head out into the city with your private driverto do some last-minute sightseeing or shopping.

 

DAY 16

FINISH IN MUMBAI

Today, your private luxury tour ends. Transfer to Mumbai airport in time for your onward flight.
