Family-run luxury travel company Rajasthan Tours was founded in 1959. The vision of Chairman Bhim Singh, Rajasthan Tours pioneered tourism in Rajasthan, opening up India’s most colourful state to a global audience. Sixty years later, the company is still going strong, with offices across the subcontinent, and continues to lead the way with great long-standing relationships with the very best hotels, guides, and travel partners.
Rajasthan Tours was established as a father and son venture by the Late Major Rawat Singhji and his son, Shri Bhim Singhji, who serves as our current Chairman. The company's very first group tour took place at the steps of Amber Fort in December 1959, and our head office has been based at the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur ever since. Over the decades, Rajasthan Tours has welcomed some of the world's most distinguished visitors to Rajasthan, including First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, Lord Mountbatten, and Sir Richard Branson, and has hosted private charter groups from the United States and travellers from across Europe, Asia, and beyond.
The contribution of Chairman Bhim Singhji to Indian tourism has been recognised at the highest levels. He has been awarded the Hall of Fame by ex-Governor of Rajasthan Mrs Margaret Alva, the Hall of Fame at ITB Berlin by PATWA, the Maharana of Mewar Award for his contribution to tourism in Rajasthan in 2010, the Maharaja Vishan Singh Award by the Late HH Brigadier Bhawani Singhji of Jaipur in 2004, the Award for Best Tour Operator in Rajasthan in 1993 and 2012 (awarded by the Minister of Tourism, Central Government of India), the Award for Excellence in Tourism in 2014, and the Lifetime Achievement Award in Tourism by the Chamber of Commerce and Industries in 2015. In 2005, the ex-President of India, Smt Pratibha Patilji, awarded Bhim Singhji the Hall of Fame award for his lifelong contribution to tourism in Rajasthan.
Today, Rajasthan Tours is run by Bhim Singhji and his daughter, Mrs Madhu Singh, who has been part of the company since 1983. With offices all over Rajasthan and an in-house team of experienced drivers and guides, the company continues to pioneer luxury travel across India, carrying forward the same family values and personal touch that have defined Rajasthan Tours since 1959.
