Begin in India’s cosmopolitan capital Delhi with the souk-like bazaars of Old Delhi and the tree-lined colonial avenues of New Delhi. You’ll then be chauffeured to Agra, home to the breath-taking Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. Continue to pink-hued Jaipur with its splendid architecture, not to mention fantastic shopping. You’ll then fly to Chandigarh, where you’ll spend three days, enjoying the fantastic spa facilities of the Oberoi Sukhvilas and – should you wish – getting stuck into one of their wellness programmes. Then return to Delhi, where you can snap up some final souvenirs before your luxury private tour ends. Day 1

ARRIVE IN DELHI (STAY AT THE OBEROI)

Your luxury private tour of India begins on arrival in Delhi, where you will be met by a member of our team at the airport and chauffeured to the recently-reopened Oberoi New Delhi in the heart of the city. The Oberoi, Delhi has undergone an extensive refurbishment and spells absolute luxury with fine dining restaurants, a wonderful spa and salon as well as a great coffee shop. There are a number of hotel options in Delhi but this is one of our top favourites because the spacious rooms are appointed with modern and chic interiors and great service so nothing is too much trouble, you just need to ask. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, going for a stroll through verdant Lodi Gardens or exploring the enticing boutiques of Khan Market, a haven of fashion, beauty, and homeware.

 

Day 2

DELHI

Start the day with an exciting cycle-rickshaw ride through the bustling alleyways of Chandni Chowk’s souk-like bazaars, including Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market. Enjoy a guided walk through Dharampura haveli and bangla sahib the Sikh temle. Discover the myriad of sights in Old and New Delhi including the Mughal monuments from 17th- century Jama Masjid, Qutb Minar and Humayun’s Tomb which is thought to have inspired the Taj Mahal. Other highlights include Connaught Place, and Gandhi museum. Spend the evening relaxing at the hotel or there are several dining options Delhi has to offer especially Bukhara, the finest Tandoori and North Indian cuisine. If you like artisanal fusion food Indian Accent is another option.

 

Day 3

DELHI TO AGRA (STAY AT THE OBEROI AMARVILAS, AGRA)

Leave Delhi in good time this morning to be chauffeured to Agra, where you’ll check in to the Oberoi Amarvilas. One of India’s finest luxury hotels, every room and suite has an uninterrupted view of the Taj Mahal, which is only a mere 600 meters away. There is also a stunning swimming pool, manicured gardens and sumptuous spa. In the afternoon, visit the iconic Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.

Please note: you can start this journey on any day however the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

 

Day 4

AGRA TO JAIPUR, VIA FATEHPUR SIKRI (STAY AT THE OBEROI RAJVILAS)

Wake up to the glorious sight of the Taj Mahal and its pastel hues at dawn. The best part about being at the Oberoi is the ability to see the Taj Mahal away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists any time of the day with its constantly changing shades. Travel to Jaipur by road, stopping on route at the magnificent ancient city, Fatehpur Sikri, the former capital of the Mughal empire, deserted in a hurry when it ran out of the water. In the afternoon, arrive in Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. The Rajvilas is tucked away close to the Aravalis and features rooms as well as tents with pastel block printed canvas roofs dotted around intimate courtyards. Entice your taste-buds in mouth-watering cuisine and absolute relaxation in the claw foot bath tubs to recover from the long drive.

 

Day 5

JAIPUR

Today, you’ll be discovering the best of Jaipur. Led by a local expert, you’ll begin by exploring the City Palace and its private rooms then continue on for a photo-stop at the stunning Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and a visit to the Jantar Mantar observatory. In the afternoon, make your way on elephant back to the splendid 17th-century Amber Fort, before spending the evening with elephants at Dera Amer. Jaipur is also the city of festivals and tempting bazaars so a real feast to the eyes and a photographer's dream. There is a number of activities that can be tailored to suit your individual interests from learning the art of block printing or blue pottery or visiting some of the most written about bars in Jaipur.

Day 6

JAIPUR

Today will be spent at leisure, to allow you to relax and indulge in the facilities at the Oberoi Rajvilas. Complimentary morning yoga sessions are available and there’s an extensive fitness facility plus tennis and croquet. We recommend catching the evening puja (prayer) ceremony at the 250-year-old temple resting within the grounds. If you would like to head out to explore further or do a bit of shopping, your driver is always on hand.

 

Day 7

JAIPUR TO CHANDIGARH (STAY AT THE OBEROI SUKHVILAS RESORT & SPA)

This morning, you’ll board a direct flight to Chandigarh, where you’ll check into the Oberoi Sukhvilas, just outside the city. With 60 beautiful villas, tents and suites, Rajasthani touches are combined with colonial features, including chandeliers, four-poster beds, and free-standing bathtubs. There’s a fabulous spa, too, with Ayurvedic therapies, massages, steam, sauna, Turkish hammam, and Roman baths.

 

Day 8 and 9

CHANDIGARH

You’ll spend the next two days enjoying the spa facilities at the Oberoi Sukhvilas - the hotel offers a number of wellness programmes including detox, rejuvenation, and mindfulness (we can tailor your itinerary to whichever programme you would like to do). You could also take a few hours out to explore Chandigarh, one of the world’s most remarkable urban creations, a picture of modernist architecture, designed by Le Corbusier in the 1950s. Alternatively, there’s the option of doing a half-day guided tour of Chandigarh. One of the world’s most remarkable urban creations, this purpose-built city designed by Le Corbusier in the 1950s is a picture of modernist architecture, most notably the UNESCO World Heritage site of Capitol Complex, the rock garden made with recucled mosaic or the rose garden. 

 

Day 10

FINISH IN CHANDIGARH

Today, your luxury private journey ends. Transfer to Chandigarh airport in time for your onward flight. Should your international connection be departing the following morning, it might be worth considering an additional night in Delhi – this can be decided once we get stuck into planning your luxury tailor-made itinerary.
