You’ll then be chauffeured to Agra, home to the breath-taking Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. Continue to pink-hued Jaipur with its splendid architecture, not to mention fantastic shopping. You’ll then fly to Chandigarh, where you’ll spend three days, enjoying the fantastic spa facilities of the Oberoi Sukhvilas and – should you wish – getting stuck into one of their wellness programmes. Then return to Delhi, where you can snap up some final souvenirs before your luxury private tour ends. This is just one of the many possibilities for your India holiday and can be totally fine tuned to fit your interests and holiday expectations.

Day 1

Your luxury private tour of India begins on arrival in Delhi, where you will be met by a member of our team at the airport and chauffeured to the recently-reopened Oberoi New Delhi in the heart of the city. The Oberoi, Delhi has undergone an extensive refurbishment and spells absolute luxury with fine dining restaurants, a wonderful spa and salon as well as a great coffee shop. There are a number of hotel options in Delhi but this is one of our top favourites because the spacious rooms are appointed with modern and chic interiors and great service so nothing is too much trouble, you just need to ask. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, going for a stroll through verdant Lodi Gardens or exploring the enticing boutiques of Khan Market, a haven of fashion, beauty, and homeware.

Day 2

Start the day with an exciting cycle-rickshaw ride through the bustling alleyways of Chandni Chowk’s souk-like bazaars, including Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market. Enjoy a guided walk through Dharampura haveli and bangla sahib the Sikh temle. Discover the myriad of sights in Old and New Delhi including the Mughal monuments from 17th- century Jama Masjid, Qutb Minar and Humayun’s Tomb which is thought to have inspired the Taj Mahal. Other highlights include Connaught Place, and Gandhi museum. If you like artisanal fusion food Indian Accent is another option.

Please note: you can start this journey on any day however the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

Day 4

Wake up to the glorious sight of the Taj Mahal and its pastel hues at dawn. The best part about being at the Oberoi is the ability to see the Taj Mahal away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists any time of the day with its constantly changing shades. Travel to Jaipur by road, stopping on route at the magnificent ancient city, Fatehpur Sikri, the former capital of the Mughal empire, deserted in a hurry when it ran out of the water. In the afternoon, arrive in Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan.
